I’m Brian.

Back in 2016 I worked for Dave Ramsey as a business and leadership coach.

In the 7 years I was with his company I had the chance to lead over 3,000+ mastermind and have thousands of conversations with business owners - from lawyers and dentists to movers and accountants.

Along the way I got to sit front-row as people navigated a LOT of stuff: employee issues, rapid growth, embezzlement, imposter syndrome, business transitions, and unfortunately, divorces and family separations.

It was heavy, and wonderful, and awful, and beautiful. I was hooked!

One day, early in my time there, I was leading a group when a young entrepreneur asked everyone, “I’m working 80+ hours a week and I’ve got a young family at home…how do I do more with my time and get through this?”

He was feeling the pinch of trying to do it all and hold it together, and was finally at a place where he was willing to ask for help and get feedback.

The group offered tools and tips and did their best to fix the presented problem (I know now that often the challenges presented go deeper and it’s up to us to ask good questions and be curious to figure out what’s REALLY going on).

My eyes went to the older gentleman on the call that hadn’t spoken yet (we’ll call him Jerry). When I called on Jerry he said:

“I built a $10M business, traveled the world, and have experienced things I never could have dreamed of. I’ve lived a life I didn’t think possible…but 6 months ago I realized I had a 16-year-old that I don’t know, and now I don’t think there’s time left to fix it.”

The call went silent. No one knew what to say (not even me).

I can still remember that moment and can see the faces on the call.

Though at the time I didn’t know what was going on, I knew at that point we were talking about the right thing.

You see, I’m a husband to an incredible woman and a father to 5 young men.

I founded Winsight in 2022 to help small-business owners succeed at work and home. To build both well and not look back with regrets.

I care about this so deeply because it’s something I’m pursuing too.
